Rencontres chorégraphiques internationales de Seine-Saint-Denis

« Rencontres chorégraphiques internationales de Seine-Saint-Denis »  organize an annual festival of contemporary dance in several cities in the territory of Seine-Saint-Denis, programming about 20 pieces by 20 choreographers from several countries. The purpose is to give the audience ( up to 10.000 spectators each year) and the many programmers who attend the shows the opportunity to discover the diversity of works and enhance the singularity of specific forms in performing arts.
All year long, The "Rencontres" organize several kinds of workshops for scholars, students, and volunteers, with some of the choreographers, pursuing a double purpose: entering the dance art by personal practice and being more curious to foreign cultures.

Half of the works shown in the festival are creations : encouraging creation implies experimentation, risk and curiosity. Our desire is to encourage the mobility of artists, whose performed expression is nourished by the confrontations, exchanges, and reflection on the hustles and bustles of the contemporary world, and for this project, by the multiples forms of perception offered by the world of science.
